HISTORY OF CORNELIUS CARTER 

 

Cornelius R. Carter

(April 2, 1927-January 18,2009)

Cornelius Robert Carter was born April 2,1927  in Jacksonville, Arkansas. He graduated high school at Arkansas City, Kansas and attended some college while in the military. He is a 41 year member of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge, State of Oklahoma and Its’ Jurisdictions.  He chaired the Budget Committee for numerous years.  In June of 2008, the Grand Master of the State of Oklahoma, Dr. Dreary Vaughn, appointed him Honorary Past Grand Master for the State of Oklahoma.  Brother Carter received his 33rd Masonic Degree in the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Right of Free Masonry, Orient of Oklahoma, Valley of Lawton, Prince Hall Affiliated, Southern Jurisdiction, of the United States of America. He is a member of the Menes Temple #32, Ancient Egyptian Arabic Noble of the Mystic Shrine. Brother Carter held positions in the following Masonic Organizations: Cornelius R. Carter was the 1st LT of Willie A. Gallop Consistory #337, Eminent Commander of George W. Chambers Commandry #40 (Knights Templar),Thrice Illustrious Master of Cornelius R. Carter Council #9, High Priest for James Crane Chapter #37, Holy Royal Arch Masons, Worhsip Master for St. James Lodge #229, Worthy Patron for Lily of the Valley #135 Order of the Eastern Star, and Ass’t Dist. Deputy Grand Master, 14th District, OK.
